1The Problem

What Is Broken, and For Whom

Africa’s smallholder farmers — over 60% of the continent’s food producers — face compounding climate shocks with minimal institutional support. Existing climate finance and adaptation programs rarely reach community scale, leaving the most vulnerable without tools to adapt or recover.
2SITU’s Role

What SITU Specifically Contributes

SITU serves as the fiscal sponsor and program architect for a consortium of regenerative agriculture networks across East and Southern Africa. We connect on-the-ground agricultural cooperatives to international climate finance, technical expertise, and policy engagement at national and regional levels.
4Journey So Far

Key Milestones

1

2023: Pilot launched with 3 cooperatives in Kenya and South Africa

2

2024: Formal MoU signed with African Union Agriculture Commission

3

2025: Expanded to Ethiopia and Ghana; technical advisory board established

4

2026: Phase 2 capital raise underway — target $12M for full regional rollout

Long-term Ambition

By 2030, embed regenerative practice and climate-resilient governance across 100,000 smallholder hectares in 8 African countries — creating a replicable, African-owned model for climate adaptation at scale.
