Hearth Summit Nairobi
Building a culture of wellbeing for people leading social change
Initiative Stages:
What Is Broken
People working to address complex social and environmental challenges often operate under sustained pressure, with limited space for reflection, renewal and connection. Over time, burnout and organisational cultures built around constant urgency can weaken the people and institutions responsible for delivering change.
Hearth creates spaces where changemakers can explore different ways of working and leading - placing care, resilience, relationships and ecological belonging alongside strategy and delivery.
The Initiative
Hearth convenes changemakers around practical and experiential conversations on wellbeing and social change. Through plenaries, facilitated workshops, creative experiences and peer exchange, participants explore issues including workplace wellbeing, burnout, ecological belonging, reconciliation and healing, financial wellbeing, technology, connection and civic engagement.
The Nairobi edition connects these conversations to African experiences and leadership, creating space for practitioners from across the continent to learn from one another and contribute to a wider global movement around wellbeing and sustainable social change.
Support Provided and Impact
SITU supported Hearth Summit Nairobi 2026 as fiscal agent, providing the institutional and fiduciary infrastructure needed to receive and administer funds for the initiative. SITU also supported fundraising for the Summit, helping mobilise resources for its programme and delivery.
As Hearth continues its annual programming, SITU remains an institutional home that can provide fiscal hosting, fundraising and operational support as needed, allowing the initiative to focus on its programme, partnerships and community
2026 Summit
The Nairobi Summit took place on 19–20 March 2026, bringing together changemakers around four core areas of wellbeing through plenaries, workshops and creative experiences.
